What's the story?

A bottle washes up on the beach with an old map rolled up inside. Your son becomes the captain and sets sail with a crew of stuffed animals for Parrot Island, where he solves three riddles that lead him to a palm tree shaped like an X. He digs beneath it and finds a chest — but there's no gold inside. Instead, there are letters from everyone who loves him. The greatest treasure was there all along.

How is the book personalized?

Send us your child's name and a clear photo of their face. We turn the photo into an illustrated character who appears on every page, and print their name on the cover and throughout the story. You'll get a PDF of the full book within 24 hours of ordering to review with us. Nothing goes to print until you approve it.

A treasure money can't buy

Your son expects gold and finds words from the people who love him. That ending tells him something that's hard to say every day: you are loved, and that's the most precious thing you have. It's why the book makes a fitting birthday gift from grandparents, aunts and uncles.

An adventure he leads

On this voyage, your son is the captain: he reads the map, leads his crew and solves the riddles himself. It's a story that casts him as the brave leader, and leaves him on the last page feeling sure he can find his own way.

Questions about “The Island Treasure”

Are there scary pirates or battles?

No. The adventure is all maps, riddles and digging under a palm tree, and the ship's crew is a band of stuffed animals. Plenty of excitement, nothing to be afraid of.

What kind of photo do you need?

A clear photo of the face in natural light is all it takes — a phone photo is perfect. Avoid dark photos or ones where the face is turned to the side. If the photo won't work, we'll tell you and ask for another before we start.

Can I add a dedication on the first page?

Yes. Write us the dedication you'd like — a line or a paragraph — and we'll print it on the first page in elegant type. It's the page parents come back to years later.

What language is the book in?

English — short, warm sentences made for reading aloud, with your child's name on the cover and throughout the story. You'll see the cover in the free preview, and the whole book in the proof before we print.

What if I don't love the book?

We don't print anything until you've seen the digital proof and approved it. And if your printed book arrives with a printing defect, we'll reprint and ship it again for free.
