elaab (“the Platform,” “we”) is a platform for creating personalized illustrated stories for children. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we store it, and when we delete it. If you have any questions, contact us.
1. Data we collect
- Account data: your name, email address, and password (encrypted).
- Child data: first name, age, gender, interests, and an optional photo uploaded by the parent to create a visual avatar for the stories.
- Story, song and lesson content: the stories and songs created on the Platform are saved to your account so you can read them again.
- Billing data: processed entirely by Stripe. We never store card numbers.
- Usage data: technical logs used to improve performance (browser type, visit times). These logs contain no personal information.
2. How we use this data
- To generate personalized stories, songs and lessons for your child.
- To create a visual avatar of your child that appears on the story pages.
- To manage your subscription, billing, and printed book orders.
- To improve the quality and security of the Platform.
- To send notifications about your account (sign-up confirmation, invoices, and notices that your content is ready). We will not send you marketing without your consent.
3. Who we share data with
We rely on trusted service providers to operate the Platform:
- Supabase — database and file storage. Your data is stored in their certified data centers.
- Stripe — payment processing. We never see card numbers.
- OpenAI / Replicate / Runway / Suno— models that generate text, images, audio and music. Requests are sent to these services to produce your child’s story content, and the result is then saved to your account. These services do not use the data of children on our Platform to train their models.
- Print provider (for printed books) — receives only the shipping address and the final file, and only when you order a printed copy.
We do not sell your data or your child’s data to any third party. Ever.
4. Protecting children
elaab is designed to be used by parents on behalf of their children. Accounts are opened by an adult (18+). We do not ask children directly for personal data, and we do not allow them to communicate with other users. All content generated for a child goes through a safety check before it is shown.
5. Data retention and deletion
- Your account data is kept for as long as your account is active.
- When you close your account, your data is deleted within 30 days. (We keep legally required billing records for the period set by local regulations.)
- You can delete a story, a child profile, or your entire account at any time from your account settings, or by messaging us.
6. Your rights
Under applicable regulations (including the GDPR for users in the European Union), you have the right to:
- Access your data and obtain a copy of it.
- Correct any inaccurate data.
- Delete your data (the “right to be forgotten”).
- Object to specific processing.
- Transfer your data to another service.
To exercise these rights, message us. We respond within 7 business days.
7. Cookies
We use only essential cookies (for signing in and remembering session preferences). We do not use advertising cookies or cookies that track you across websites.
8. Updates
We may update this policy. We will notify you by email of any material change before it takes effect.
