The personalized hardcover book Sweet Dreams, Emma, with a pink cover

The bedtime story she'll ask for every night

Teddy's sleepy. The moon's sleepy. Only she's still awake.

4.9/5Average parent rating across elaab books

A gentle story that carries your daughter from the last game of the day to the first dream of the night. On every page, something in the room settles down — the light, the teddy bears, the stars — until she does too. It's written at a deliberately slow pace, in short sentences meant to be read softly, and it ends on a single line with her name in it.

What's the story?

As the day winds down, the room gets ready for bed one thing at a time: the lights go out, the teddy bears yawn, the moon pulls up its blanket. Every page puts something else to sleep, until the only one still awake is your daughter — and then she drifts off too, in her teddy's arms. The story is built on gentle repetition that kids know by heart after two nights, and that's exactly what turns bedtime into something she looks forward to instead of a nightly battle.

How is the book personalized?

Send us your child's name and a clear photo of their face. We turn the photo into an illustrated character who appears on every page, and print their name on the cover and throughout the story. You'll get a PDF of the full book within 24 hours of ordering to review with us. Nothing goes to print until you approve it.

Why repetition works at bedtime

Little ones don't calm down because they're told to. They calm down because they know what's coming. When a child can predict what the next page will say, they feel safe, and their body slows down on its own. That's why this story is built on one line that repeats on every page with a small change — a technique as old as the cradle, and still the best way to end a day.

Your daughter, drawn by an artist

We start from a single photo of her face and build a whole character from it: her hair, her eye color, even her hair bow if you'd like. That character appears on every page of the book, not just the cover. And the first time your daughter sees it, she'll point at the page and say her own name — that's the whole moment.

Questions about “Sweet Dreams, Little Princess”

Is there a version for boys?

Yes — the same story, titled “Sweet Dreams, Little Hero,” with different colors and a different character. Just choose boy or girl when you personalize, and we'll take care of the rest.

What kind of photo do you need?

A clear photo of the face in natural light is all it takes — a phone photo is perfect. Avoid dark photos or ones where the face is turned to the side. If the photo won't work, we'll tell you and ask for another before we start.

Can I add a dedication on the first page?

Yes. Write us the dedication you'd like — a line or a paragraph — and we'll print it on the first page in elegant type. It's the page parents come back to years later.

What language is the book in?

English — short, warm sentences made for reading aloud, with your child's name on the cover and throughout the story. You'll see the cover in the free preview, and the whole book in the proof before we print.

What if I don't love the book?

We don't print anything until you've seen the digital proof and approved it. And if your printed book arrives with a printing defect, we'll reprint and ship it again for free.
