What's the story?
Spark the little dragon tries to breathe fire like the big dragons, but all that comes out is shiny bubbles — and the other dragons laugh. Your daughter climbs onto his back and helps him see something no one else has noticed: bubbles can do what fire never could. High above a grumpy kingdom, Spark blows his bubbles, and everyone below starts laughing again. Together they learn that being different isn't something to hide — it's a gift.

When she's the one who believes
In most stories, the child is the one who needs cheering on. Here, your daughter does the cheering: she sees in the little dragon what he can't see in himself, and she stands by him when others laugh. And as she learns to give someone else confidence, she learns how to give it to herself.

Different, and that's wonderful
Every child feels, at some point, that they're not quite like the others — the way they look, the way they sound, the things they love. This story hands your daughter one simple idea to carry with her: what makes you different might be the best thing about you.

Questions about “The Little Dragon”
Can it help a girl who feels different from her friends?
It can be a gentle way in. The story doesn't point at her directly — it puts her in the role of the one standing up for someone else, which makes the conversation afterward easier: "What did you tell Spark? What would you tell yourself?"
What kind of photo do you need?
A clear photo of the face in natural light is all it takes — a phone photo is perfect. Avoid dark photos or ones where the face is turned to the side. If the photo won't work, we'll tell you and ask for another before we start.
Can I add a dedication on the first page?
Yes. Write us the dedication you'd like — a line or a paragraph — and we'll print it on the first page in elegant type. It's the page parents come back to years later.
What language is the book in?
English — short, warm sentences made for reading aloud, with your child's name on the cover and throughout the story. You'll see the cover in the free preview, and the whole book in the proof before we print.
What if I don't love the book?
We don't print anything until you've seen the digital proof and approved it. And if your printed book arrives with a printing defect, we'll reprint and ship it again for free.
